Isabella Orefice

Isabella Orefice graduated in Humanities in 1975 and after that she specialised at the Archival School in Naples.
She worked as state archivist for the State Archives in Naples from 1978 to 1982 and for the State Archives in Milan from 1982 to 1991.
She has been working in Rome since 1992, first in the Central Headquarter of Archives in the
Group for Electronic Coordination, and then, since 1994, she has been working as inspector for the Archival Superintendence Office in Lazio. She is in charge of the preservation of media and cinema archives.
Since 1995 she has been the President of the National Italian Archival Association (ANAI) with three consecutive mandates.
She is coordinator of the European Group in the International Team for the project InterPARES 2.
She is member of the Board of the Section of Records Management and Archival Professional Associations and of the Section of Sport Archives in the International Council on Archives.
She is editor in chief of the magazine “Il mondo degli archivi” and vice-director of the magazine “Archivi per la Storia”.
As president of the ANAI, she has organised many conferences and lectures since 1995, among which the 6th European Conference on Archives in Florence. .
