Maurizio Fallace

Maurizio Fallace was born in Rome in 1947 and graduated in Law in 1972 at the “La Sapienza” University in Rome. After having won the competitive state exam for the post of consultant in the managing career of the Central and Local Administration of the Department for Cultural Assets in 1979, he was appointed Administrative Director of the State Archive in Bologna (1979-1980); he became Director of the First Division ex Central Office for Archival Assets in 1995 and General Manager-Superintendent for the Central State Archives in Rome in 2002. Since 2004 he has been General Manger for the Archives.
Since 1988, he has collaborated with the Faculty of Architecture of the “La Sapienza” University in Rome for the teaching of Cultural Assets Legislation; with the University of Ravenna where he teaches in the Master for the Valorization and the Management of Archival Assets. He worked for the Czech Republic for an exchange project of professional experiences in the management and valorization of human resources and for a comparison of the organization, the systems and the techniques of usage of the archival heritage. He was responsible for the planning and the management of different Italian projects: Domenicarchivio in 1997 and 1998; Sulle vie del Giubileo e Prolungamento orario apertura Archivi di Stato in 1999; Domenicarchivio in 2000.
He works for the Consultative Commission for the issues concerning the confidential records, for the Commission for the reunification of Aldo Moro’s Archives and for the Commission for the examination of the records preserved in the SISDE Archives.
