Born in 1957, Roger Nougaret graduated from Ecole Nationale des Chartes in Paris (1982). After first working as a curator at the French National Archives, based at Archives de Loire-Atlantique in Nantes (1982-1991), he took a position as an Archivist at Crédit Lyonnais (1991-1998), and then Archivist and Records Manager (1999-2004). In 2003 and 2004, R. Nougaret has also held the position of Secretary of the Crédit Lyonnais Board. From 2005 he is Group Archivist of Crédit Agricole SA, which includes the subsidiaries Crédit Lyonnais and Calyon (former Indosuez). Currently he is a member of the European Association for Banking History’s Academic Advisory Council (1998 onwards), and the Comité des Travaux Historiques et Scientifiques (2001 onwards).
