Carlo Vinti

enlarge text

He deals with historic research in the field of design and visual communication. In 2005, he got a doctor’s degree in theory and history of arts at the Scuola studi avanzati in Venice and since that year he has been teaching Graphic History at the Design Faculty at the University Iuav in Venice.
He taught in many schools and universities and he took part in many international conferences on design history and business communication. Among the theme he worked on closely is the debate on the new typography in the graphic magazine in Italy and the image of the large industry in Italy in the period after the Second World War. His current research interests concern the phenomenon of the Italian corporate press and the much-disputed relationship between graphical designers and advertisement.
He wrote many essays and articles on graphic design history in Italy and the volume Gli anni dello stile industriale: 1948-1965. Immagine e politica culturale nella grande impresa italiana (Marsilio, 2007).
