She was born in Münster, Germany. She studied History at the University of Edinburgh and graduated in 2003. After that she completed a Records Management traineeship in Edinburgh and went on to do the masters in Information Management and Preservation (Archives and Records Management) at the University of Glasgow and graduated with distinction in 2007.
Since January 2009 she has been working as the first professional Archivist for the Ballast Trust, a charity that processes shipbuilding, railway and engineering technical records. She is also part of a project to develop a Scottish National Strategy for Business Archives which will be published in 2010.
