Review by Lara Piccardo

Enlarge text

The interesting volume by Manuela Signorelli and Michele Pittaluga deals with the long and animated history of gas in Genoa, reconstructed from the half of the 19th century up to now, without leaving out some details on manufacturing, places, instruments and people. This work, enriched by many images and some English abstracts, does not ignore Amga corporate life, through accounts, agreements, minutes and records. The authors dedicated some pages also to the Museo dell'Acqua e del Gas of the Fondazione Amga, whose work gave the opportunity to collect various objects and images, described in the schedules to be found in the last part of the book.
